UPDATES FROM
LADIES AID / LUTHERAN WOMEN IN MISSION
St. Paul Ladies Aid/LWML meet every first and third Thursday of each month. The first Thursday we meet at the church basement 9:00 a.m. for quilting until noon, bag lunch, and at 12:30 Bible study with meeting to follow. The 3rd Thursday we meet 9:00 a.m. for quilting until noon. Health kits are also put together.
The church bulletins will list the weekly events and times.
Throughout the year, they help support Missouri Synod Bible Translators, Camp Luther, an adoptee at Bethesda and various things for our church.
The mission projects worked on are quilts and health kits. These items are completed by the ladies from material(s) donated by the congregation and others from the community. The quilts made are sent to LWR (Lutheran World Relief) in October. Mite monies and canceled stamps are used to collect money for missions.
Baby quilts for baptism will be given or made by the ladies for our church congregation.
The health kits consist of a hand towel (dark color preferred), wash cloths, adult toothbrush in the package, bath size bar of soap in wrapper, wide toothed combs, metal nail file or clippers with file and 6 Band-Aides (or similar of different brand 1/2 " to 3/4").
The Ladies Aid/LWML sell greeting cards and kitchen knives. Our Sunshine person sends sympathy and get-well cards to members of our congregation. Campbell labels for Camp Luther are also needed.
God gives us all talents to serve Him. We welcome women any age to come join us. The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) is the official women's auxiliary of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Every woman who's a member of our church is a member of LWML. For over 65 years, the LWML had focused on affirming each woman's relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions. All Women should affirm their relationship with the Triune God so that they are enabled to use their gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
